The right eye brow shape for you

Hi there..Today am going to discuss the perfect shape of an eye brow. Eye Brows help define our face better and the right eye brows ideally should help your eyes stand out better, rather than taking the attention away from your face. I ideally feel the image below is is a perfect eye brow.
I usually see women in India have very thick and long eye brows. I recommend thick bushy eye brows but what I feel is that women keep the length a bit too much. Also salons in India are not clear about the right shape & usually dissuade a client from plucking the eye brows short or thin.  The picture below gives you a clear indication of what an eye brow length should be like.
The eye brow should always start where the base of your nose ends. Women who have deep set eyes should try and keep eye brows on the thinner side so that the eye area below looks brighter. If you have really bushy eye brows, invest in a transparent mascara and run the brush over your brows to stick it in place and give it definition.

I see most women refrain from darkening their eye brows. One must always darken the eyebrows( unless they are really thick and dark) even if you do the most basic make up on your self. If you do smokey eyes you should darken the eye brows even further. Eye brow pencils remain an old tool for darkening eye brows, however I feel black pencils are a bit too stark and if you make a mistake its very prominent. In case you like your eye brows soft, use a brown pencil instead. What I recommend is 'Push up bra for the eye brows' by NYX Cosmetics , available at Sephora Delhi. In case you are not from Delhi and reaching out for this brand is difficult you can opt for a medium brown eye shadow and use an angular brush for the perfect soft finish. Use a soft black eye shadow to fill your eye brows in case you like them stronger. Hope this helps you achieve the perfect brows!

Smoke it up!

Don't we all love Smokey eyes?? Just finished with the Satya Paul campaign Fall 2013 and did these gorgeous eyes on our model Tascianne. She had the perfect almond eyes for the look.
As we were doing various colours of garments I just stuck to a highly pigmented metallic shade all over the eyes and smoked it up with a deep burgundy at the corners, blending it finely. I personally recommend no hard crease to smoke it up. I feel it looks more polished. To get the eyes totally gorgeous team it with a winged eye liner. I love exaggerated wings+lashes to make the eyes totally dramatic. Fashion shoots can't do without strong chiseled faces & over the top highlighting.  I stick to a medium blush and do pop orange glossy lips. A messy fish tail completes the look.

Self application of fake lashes! Get it right!

Fake lashes is one thing that transforms regular eye make up to ultra glamorous in one go. It takes great deal of perfection to get this thing right, specially if you are doing it on yourself. Am gonna give you tips here to make it simpler for you. First of all what you need is a great set of lashes made with natural hair. The good quality ones have a flexible baseline and take the shape of your eyes easily. The bad quality ones feel & look very plastic and don't curve easily along the lash line. Sooner or later these come off the corners. The other bigger problem is getting it in the perfect shape along the lash line
I personally find single lashes easier to use on self. They might seem really scanty but remember you can build on it gradually depending on how heavy a look you want. Also remember to apply the same amount on both eyes. You also need the perfect glue to get great precision while applying lashes. Duo is one of the most prefered lash glue across the world. You will also need a plucker to apply these individual lashes. All you require is a drop of lash glue on the back of your hand. Take every individual lashes, dip it in the glue, give it ten seconds to semi dry & then apply it right at your lash line.

Tip: Keep them dense towards the outer corner for a more enticing look. Draw the eyeliner once you are done with the lash application.
Applying half lashes is the other option. They are definitely heavier in appearance and give a fuller look. One movie star who wore half lashes all the time was the classic beauty Marilyn Monroe. Half lashes also give your eyes a longer almond kind look & feel. They too are best applied with a plucker. Apply minimum glue along the lash line, let it dry for 10 seconds and then put them on your outer/upper lash line and don't forget to press it  in place. I also like to place the half lashes slightly out of my eyes to give it a more dramatic length. This would help smaller eyes look big instantly. Lashes also help give a lift to droopy eyes. In that case I would apply the lashes a little above the lash line only at the outer corners.
Tip: Always apply mascara at the end, make sure you blend your lashes into the fake lashes to give it a more natural look.

Tools to get the perfect Winged eyeliner

Time & again I have women at my salon for make up services with a request to give them the perfect winged eye liner. 80% of them claim they can never get it right. I thought this was a perfect photograph to help them achieve it. P.S: Ditch the eye liner brush and get the wing right with the angular brush. You can find one with most brands these days, be it Colorbar, Sephora, NYX , Inglot or MAC.
Also I totally love how NYX cosmetics has come out with eyeliners from Super fat to super skinny. Buy the Super skinny to get superb precision to your wing or inner corners. Compliment your winged eyeliner with enough mascara  to give it the oomph! I recently tried the Deborah 24ORE mascara and was bowled over by the volume it gave. Priced at a brilliant Rs 450 I think its a complete steal. But yes won't deny that Diorshow Blackout remains my most preferred mascara! It does not get better than this!
